Hawthorn Makers Market LAUNCHES SUNDAY 8 APRIL
Celebrated as one of Melbourne’s oldest and most loved markets, the Hawthorn Craft Market will be reimagined as the Hawthorn Makers Market launching on Sunday 8 April. The market brings together the local community’s most talented artisans and bespoke designers.
Spotlighting the unique offering found in bespoke fashion, jewellery, art, homewares, artisan food and children’s products, the market returns to its former glory, to call the Hawthorn Arts Centre home once again – the venue they first began almost 40 years ago. The community can visit the stunning and contemporary surrounds of the Hawthorn Arts Centre with the Makers Market held on the first Sunday of every month (launching 8 April – due to Easter Sunday).
The Hawthorn Makers Market will boast more than 70 stallholders and provides the perfect way to relax on a Sunday discovering hidden gems and hearing stories from the designers. Visitors can get lost in a sea of crafted goods, starting from The Basement performance space, to the vast Emporium itself, through to the vibrant outdoor courtyard. Re-energise in the Second Empire café before exploring the grounds.
Welcoming those from far and wide, patrons can expect a buzzing atmosphere with no shortage of entertainment on opening day including roving performance artists The Mirror People who will delight market visitors as they mime their way through the stalls.
