Welcome to
The Australia Times Kids Magazine.
The Australia Times is about providing high quality
engaging content for the whole family; from
young children right through to teenagers, and
parents alike. We provide a forum for each age
group and for the whole family to come together
over relevant and targeted content. Independent
Media Inspiring Minds for everyone. We'll achieve
this by having three separate magazines; the Kids
Magazine caters for ages 3-12 years and parents,
the Teens Magazine from 12 to 16 years, and for
16 to 20 years a Youth Magazine.
WELCOME
We're currently in the process of recruiting
interested teens and youths to provide content for
each magazine, as these publications will have
content by the relevant age group, for the relevant
age group. If you know of (or have) a teenager or
young adult interested in media, or writing or just
excited about informing their friends about things,
we'd be interested to hear from them! While the
Teen and Youth magazine are in progress;

FROM THE EDITOR:
Welcome to the first issue of The Australia
Times Kids Magazine.
I look forward to sharing this online space as a
enjoyable place for children and parents alike.
I am mother to a lovely 7 year old daughter who
inspires me to do many things; she was a very
active child between the age of 1 and 4 years old
and this lead me to take a break from my previous
jobs as a lecturer and researcher.
At one and a half years it became apparent my
daughter liked playing computer games and doing
activity books; however, she would easily get
bored and I found the search for children’s
educational games and activities difficult and
tiresome. I created a series of e-books for her. I
would like share these e-books with parents and
other children.
I’m excited to be able to share these e-books with
everyone through the monthly publications of TAT
Kids Magazine. In this issue you’ll find Learn the
Colour Words, suitable for 3 to 7 year olds, and for
the older kids from 8 years there’s an Introduction
to Multiplication activity book. I plan to have a
section for young kids and older kids, providing
the appropriate aged educational activity books,
but with your help I’d like the magazines to be
more than this.
I welcome your feedback, comments and ideas
and wish to have more reader-generated content
from parents and children alike. I’d like the
younger kids section to have stories, and the
older kids section to have children write their own
stories and perhaps story-writing competitions
and games.
The Australia Times Kids Magazine will be a place
where the parents can get together and share
ideas and foster growth for their child. While I’ll
continue to provide educational activities and
magazines, I look forward to what this online
space can become for children, parents and the
friendly community we can make; so please
contact me with ideas, suggestions or content.
Here’s to making a happy, friendly and educational
online space enjoyable for and children and
ourselves.
