To whom it may concern, I am writing to apply for a Contributor at MELBOURNE Magazine. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (international Studies) and a Diploma of Languages (French) at RMIT University in Melbourne. I have strong ambitions of pursuing a career in the field of Journalism. I have been employed by various hospitality and retail companies for the past one and a half years in order to support myself in Melbourne. I have enjoyed my time immensely working as I thoroughly enjoying serving a wide variety of customers. I continually search for ways to improve myself in work, as I believe that there are always ways to further develop my skills. Due to my need to work whilst living in Melbourne, I have learnt to be extremely organised. I have managed to study, work and also have a social life for the past 18 months due to my organisational skills. Not only this, but I have never used an extension as I understand the importance and necessity of deadlines. I am a bubbly and positive personality who strives for perfection in everything that I do. I work hard at the tasks required of me and I enjoy working with in a team environment. Although I have limited experience in editing and writing, I have gain skills in these areas throughout my education. I believe that this position would be a great platform for me to improve my writing and editing skills. I simply love writing as I find both relief and intelligence through the practice. It has become a huge passion of mine and thus I hope to find a career within it. I believe that I am the best candidate for the role as my experiences so far in Melbourne and my knowledge of editing and writing would benefit your publication.
