Australian designers have made a splash at international fashion weeks in the past month,
with eight labels showing their autumn-winter collections in New York and six in Paris.
Fresh to the Big Apple was Rebecca Vallance and TOME, while Sass & Bide, Zimmerman, Dion
Lee and Steven Khalil returned for a second successive season.
Among other Aussie designers, in Paris we saw Ellery, Akira Isogawa and Strateas.Carlucci
return to present their newest fall lines.
Showcasing talent from Down Under in the biggest global fashion market, designers proved
that although we’ve seen iconic Australian labels close their doors in the past year, we’ve
never been a fercer force overseas.
With Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week having come and gone, Australian fashion remains a true
contender in the international landscape
