Raw Brit Play ‘Machine Head’ & ‘Raw Company’

Raw Brit

The awesome Aussie supergroup that is Raw Brit are heading to the Yarraville Club for Cup Eve, promising a ripper of a show, promising a ripper of a show as they rock out to two classic albums as well as a set of dance floor favourites.

Featuring Mick Pealing (Stars, The Ideals), Bob Spencer (Skyhooks, Angels), John Favaro (The Badloves) and Peter Maslen (Boom Crash Opera) this time around, the group will give you Deep Purple’s Machine Head and Bad Company.

Kicking off the first set, Raw Brit pay homage to Machine Head, which released in 1972 and was Deep Purple’s sixth album, generating commercial success quite unlike any of their previous records. Machine Head featured the iconic “Smoke on The Water” and classic tracks such as “Highway Star” and “Space Truckin’”. It reached the top of the charts in the United Kingdom and was in the American Billboard 200 for nearly two years after its release.

The second set of the show will be songs from hard-rock super group, Bad Company, with their first self-titled album. Released in 1974 this album was the first issue from Led Zeppelin’s label Swan Song Records and featured the hit singles “Can’t Get Enough” and “Movin’ On”. Since reaching the top of the US Billboard 200, the album has gone platinum 5 times and spent 25 weeks in the UK album charts.
