Last chance to attend the Donut & Beer Fest – Sunday 20 August
Melbourne Events Writer, Celeste Iuliano, headed to the Launch of the 2017 Donut Fest for a sweet, sweet time ahead of this weekend’s event…
Donuts. Beer. Great on their own, outstanding together! This weekend you can find your two favourite carbs in one place, as Melbourne plays host to Australia’s only donut and beer festival, Donut Fest. All your favourite vendors, including Donut Time and Nuts About Tella, will be serving up exclusive flavours in a bid to win the prestigious Best Donut Award (as judged by you and a panel of expert foodies!) We had a sneak peak at the donuts on offer and were spoilt for choice, with perfected classics and some surprise combinations. Sweet temptations included creamy bombolone, sticky loukoumades, the exotic ‘ostrich egg’, and lots and lots of Nutella-filled treats…and you’ll have the chance to sample them all!
All that tasting can make for thirsty work, so be sure to look out for the local breweries serving up their best drop. If having your pick of Melbourne’s finest drinks and doughies isn’t enough to convince you to come down, how about knowing that it’s for a good cause? A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Fair Share, ‘a food rescue charity working to address the issue of food hunger in Australia’.

Donut Fest: Winter Edition is on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2017 at Batman Royale,
14 Gaffney Street, North Coburg.
Two sessions each day – 11am to 3pm and 4pm to 8pm both days.
ENTRY: $15 (kids under 12 free).
Tickets include fast entry and a taster of the official festival beer.
