Sara Jane moved to Melbourne 2 years ago to pursue her musical journey. Initially playing solo, Sara Jane is now supported by a great band consisting of a super talented and creative group of musicians.
Together they are starting to grasp a hold of the Melbourne music scene with shows at the Prince of Wales, Revolver band room, The Rainbow Hotel, Bar Open and many others. A highlight this year was being selected to play as a headline artist at the St Kilda Festival as part of the ‘live and local’. Sara Jane performed an acoustic set of tunes at Bay City Burrito and had people walking in off the street to listen. She has also had frequent visits to both Sydney and Melbourne for solo shows and is eager to return with the band in the next coming year.
Sounds like: Unique & individual, a style this is very much her own and not easily categorised into one box
a glass of bluesy vocals
a shot of funky reggae grooves
a splash of jazzy overtones
mixed together with a dash of pop.
The final touch is Sara Jane’s story telling lyrics that resonate with listeners of all backgrounds and ages, as she talks about love, life and all the journeys and struggles with have along the way. Sara Jane has been a regular support for last years ‘Voice’ Contestant Thando and has also worked alongside artists Ngaiire, Dai Pritchard, Rex Goh, Tim Freedman, Kristen Berardi, Michelle Nicole, Lindsay Field and many others.
