Summer at Lido on the Roof – Melbourne
Lido on the Roof returns for its third year in the moonlight, showcasing the best of new release films and a curated selection of retro classics.
With a new and improved rooftop bar and extended trading hours, patrons can head upstairs to meet friends for a drink while watching the sun sink below the surrounding rooftops of Hawthorn before enjoying a film.
The stunning Italian romance Call Me By Your Name starts its rooftop run on Boxing Day, followed by the hard-talking Three Billboards Outside Ebbing , Missouri on New Year’s Day, and the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion winner The Shape of Water , directed by the inimitable Guillermo del Toro, on Saturday 20 January.
The CULT CALENDAR returns for another year packed full of favourites. This year Lido on the Roof also presents LIDO AFTER DARK, a selection of classic erotic
thrillers to steam up Friday nights.
Lido on the Roof will host the first screening of the much-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi , at 12.01 am on Thursday 14 December, with screenings continuing nightly at 9pm until Thursday 21 December.
On Monday 8 January, celebrate David Bowie’s birthday with dance magic at Lido’s annual screening of Labyrinth (1986), and on Wednesday 10 January, sing-a-long with Australian classic Muriel’s Wedding (1994).
