The season Melburnians have all been waiting for is about to begin with the Ultimate Footy Kick- Off Party at Riverland Bar on the Yarra River.
The longing void we’ve all been feeling will finally be filled with the 2018 AFL season just a bounce away, and because Riverland loves footy just as much as everyone else, they are throwing a big party on Saturday 24 March from 3-6pm to celebrate our beloved sport’s return.
Set to be bigger than Dustin Martin’s 2017 season, Riverland is pulling all the stops with food, prizes and football veteran Campbell Brown in attendance. Love him or hate him, Brown will be in charge of the Ultimate Prize Wheel throughout the night. Every pint of Carlton Draught purchased will give visitors a chance to spin the wheel every 30 minutes.
Punters have the chance to snag a Sherrin football, a pint of Carlton Draught or an Esky. Two lucky winners will also receive the Ultimate Footy Day Out, which includes an afternoon of loaded dogs and Carlton for them and five mates, followed by round 8 Corporate Box tickets to Collingwood v. Geelong at the G.
Just a 15-minute walk from the MCG and a stone’s throw from Flinders Street station, Riverland’s Kick-Off Party will feed the crowds and cheer squads alike with its very own BBQ Bar. Operating all season long the BBQ Bar will be serving $12 loaded hotdogs to satisfy any pre, during or post- match craving.
Some of the dogs on offer: the classic dog – a Peter Bouchier frankfurter, mustard pickle and shredded cheese, the chili dog – a Peter Bouchier frankfurter, chili con carne and jalapenos, the Mac ‘n’ Cheese dog – a Peter Bouchier frankfurter, mac ‘n’ cheese, bacon crumb, and the Philly Cheese – Hopkins River pulled brisket, cheese sauce, onion and peppers. All dogs come with a faux frank option for the vegetarians in the crowd.

If you don’t have tickets to the G, don’t stress, Riverland will be telecasting plenty of games this season to make sure no one misses out.
