Melbourne’s Wine and Cheese Fest
Words & Images by Keti Kezunovic
Every year wine and cheese enthusiasts get the chance to sample a variety of artisanal food and wine offerings from over 30 boutique vendors, at the Wine and Cheese Fest. Celebrating the 6th year of the festival this one was no exception.
Hosted in the iconic Meat Market in North Melbourne, this popular event included a variety of different elements including a mozzarella Master Class and of course the annual Grape Stomp Comp, which sees punters competing for, you guessed it, wine and cheese…
Further highlights included a showcase of hand-made sustainable food wraps crafted from beeswax, which can be used to wrap and sustain the longevity of these tasty treats sans environmental footprint… but no, unfortunately you cannot eat these.
Along with glasses clinking were the sounds of live jazz music filling the space, giving visitors a chance to dance off their ‘wine buzz’.
Upon leaving, the purchase of a few ‘investment’ wines meant punters could bring a little bit of the festival home to enjoy at a later date. Like they say, it is always ‘wine time’!
