Review by Amanda Lancaster
Never before have I been so thoroughly convinced to give an act or performance a 5 star rating with such haste!
So what does a woman really want for in modern day society? Is it love? Or is it money? Once consumed with the age old idea of looking for love the girls are now back and more determined than ever, this time to break into the big bucks world of business.
In what can only be described as a non-stop rollercoaster ride of musical marketing theatrics, the girls take turns debuting each of their profit seeking product ideas – each more hysterical and outlandish than the last.
Featuring swooning crooning slogans and beatbox business start-ups songs stylings such as the memorable “sports trivia wedding” the girls attempt to keep their eyes on the prize but can’t help occasionally falling back into the romantic habits of wistful thinking – as aptly demonstrated in the lascivious MasterChef love letter “Gordon Bennett, come ‘n get it!”
Ginger and Tonic is a quartet of incredible female talent showcasing some of the most superb vocal skills you will ever encounter. Faultless acapella harmonies intertwine with original song stylings and cheeky parodies that make for one of the slickest, smartest and sassiest cabarets of the festival.
Individually, each of the ladies demonstrates an amazing comedic styling and wit, but collectively their feminine blend of Spice Girls-esque empowerment versus Sex In the City notoriety are nothing short of perfection.
