With World Gin Day tomorrow, Saturday 9 June, the liquor industry is looking to the Drinks Collective Show in September!
For the last ten years, gin lovers around the world rejoice on this day – a global celebration of all things gin, and this year Drinks Collective Show will bring some of the tastiest new gins to the industry’s attention.
Exhibitor and award-winning Animus Distillery, founded three years ago by four friends, has seen significant growth and is now recognised for its world-class gins that the friends first set out to produce.
With three gins, each with several award wins of their own, the distillery uses the highest grade of 100% Australian grain spirit, triple filtered, with home-grown botanicals, and produces each gin in small batches to ensure the freshest and richest flavours.
Macedon Dry Gin: a unique twist balanced with Australian native lemon myrtle and mountain pepper berry
Ambrosian Gin: using bold flavours of mandarin, kaffir lime and white sesame, fresh tumeric, galangal and ginger, this gin is a bold reinterpretation of Australian and South East Asian influences
Arboretum Gin: fresh strawberry gum leaf, lemon thyme, rosemary, oranges and native bush tomatoes all add to the stunning and five-time award-winning gin
The Drinks Collective Show is excited to host Animus Distillery as one of the fabulous exhibitors at this year’s show, and to share their expertise and products with the industry.
When: 10 – 12 September 2018

CHEERS TO THE INDUSTRY: DRINKS COLLECTIVE SHOW LAUNCHES
After the success of the inaugural Commercial Drinks Show last year, the country’s largest event dedicated solely to Australia’s $16bn on-premise liquor industry is back with a revamped image. Re-launching in September as Drinks Collective Show, the new brand better encompasses its offering to the industry and is set to return with a bang (or should that be a pop!).
After conducting extensive research within the industry, Drinks Collective has been reimagined to cater specifically to the needs and demands of the country’s buzzing on-premise liquor industry and the myriad of businesses that exist within that.
Drinks Collective has pioneered experts of the industry including show ambassadors Kirrily Waldhorn (Beer Partner), David Messum (Wine Curator), Nigel Weisbaum (Spirits Ambassador), and Mitch Wilson (Bar Ambassador) who will each bring their individual expertise to the show floor and have provided crucial input into the evolution of the event.
“The natural progression of last year’s event into Drinks Collective is an exciting shift and represents the stirring changes happening within Australia’s liquor industry,” says Kirrily. “We’ve worked with the event team to create a show and content that has been specifically tailored to reflect current industry trends and demands.”
As well as showcasing the latest and best in drink offerings, Drinks Collective will also provide three days of free educational sessions and masterclasses designed to provide practical advice to industry members. From curating the perfect beer menu or wine list, learning the best business models for bars or paired tasting sessions – there is something for every venue.
The full seminar program will be announced shortly.
When: 10 – 12 September 2018
Where: Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre
