Pastuso’s Alejandra Saravia will once again celebrate the heart of Gippsland and its world class produce with a series of special events in conjunction with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2018.

Renascence Gippsland will be held on Saturday 17 March at Biran Biran Gippsland Natural Beef Farm in Fish Creek. The beautiful lunch features a five-course menu featuring locally-sourced produce paired with premium local wines from Bass Phillip Estate.

The stunning celebration looks over the iconic Wilsons Promontory and showcases Gippsland Natural Beef, a community effort on sustainable beef farming with a focus on a holistic environmental approach. Guests can soak up the sights while enjoying an open-fire feast and dining alfresco.

As an advocate for sustainable dining and the official food and beverage ambassador for Gippsland, Saravia aims to inspire, influence and create memorable culinary experiences that highlight the quality produce of the area. He will share his expertise in Peruvian flavours, ingredients and cooking techniques.

The menu will feature produce from other passionate local farmers including Gippsland Natural Meat, Butterfly Factory, Pangrazzi Cheese and others. Following the great success of last year’s Renascence Gippsland, Saravia is excited to once again host this special event.

Saravia’s love for the region and support from its producers has driven him to create the new Farmer’s Daughters concept, which will showcase fresh produce, local farmers and how they work with seasons and the land. Expect simple dishes cooked in the most rustic way to let the ingredients shine, in an elegant, stripped back and delicious dining experience, set to launch in 2018.

Also part of the festival is Pastuso meets Gippsland, held on Tuesday 20 March, a six-course menu inspired by Gippsland producers and wine makers held at Pastuso.

Saravia shares his personal approach incorporating the distinct flavours of the region with techniques he’s learnt over the years working in Europe together with his Latin American heritage. Enjoy delicious dishes which show Saravia’s approach to working with open fire peats and using the whole animal, including seafood sourced from Lakes Entrance.

This exciting event also coincides with the reveal of a new graffiti mural in ACDC Lane, which features Gippsland produce, designed and painted by a Melbourne artist, commissioned by Pastuso.

*Cost per ticket: $88 pp, $128 for matched wines, booking via:
