Truly, Madly, Deeply Melbourne – Part Three at The Plaza Ballroom
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival
On Tuesday 20 March, The Plaza Ballroom will once again host an indulgent night of degustation and entertainment not to be missed, as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
With the previous two years quickly selling out, Truly, Madly, Deeply Melbourne – Part Three returns in 2018, promising to surprise and delight guests with a culinary feast like no other.
Fast forward to the lavish evening set at the historic Plaza Ballroom below the Regent Theatre, and lucky guests will get to enjoy the rare experience of dining in the iconic ballroom as it transforms into a vision of complete opulence.
Truly, Madly, Deeply Melbourne – Part Three is a nod to the city’s commitment to culinary excellence; presenting a contemporary four-course menu by award-winning and hatted Executive Chef, David Ricardo, with a few added surprises along the way.
David’s menu will be accompanied by matching wines from multi-award winning Fowles Wine of Avenel, who were the first Victorian winery to ever take out the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge with their cool climate drop back in 2010. Beers will be supplied by Two Birds Brewing, who have been breaking boundaries since 2011 as Australia’s first female owned brewery.
“Since its inception in 2016, our event for the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, Truly Madly Deeply Melbourne, has become a ‘must do’ on everyone’s calendar. This year, our third instalment, continues to build on the unique offering, bold, innovative cuisine matched to outstanding Victorian wines, all served in one of Melbourne’s most decadent settings, the Plaza Ballroom,” says David.
The historic Plaza Ballroom, situated in the heart of Collins Street at the famous Regent Theatre, was built in 1929 and represents a unique blend of historic beauty and contemporary elegance. With the addition of David Ricardo’s food offering, the Plaza continues to uphold its reputation for providing truly unique dining experiences.
A favourite on the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival calendar, the Plaza Ballroom only opens its doors once a year to the public.
