413A1685-353

Quite literally, a sensory overload is expected to hit again at the Meat Market in North Melbourne on Saturday 17 March 2018. The Wine & Cheese Fest is back, and looking to delight all your senses all over again. Is there a better base than combining Wine and Cheese, to start off from on this foodie adventure?

162A9644-98

There are over 30 quality exhibitors preparing to showcase and share their artisan products on the day. From wheels of fine cheeses and savoury sauces, to home-style pastries, pickled preserves, smoked and cured meats, luscious desserts, and of course a huge array of wine, ciders and beers for all palates, the Wine & Cheese Fest is a tantalising feast for both the taste buds and smell receptors.

With the senses of taste and smell taken care of, the focus will be on the sense of hearing, and as always, the Wine and Cheese Fest is accompanied by live jazz music entertainment as well as a DJ in the courtyard area. For a more private and personal audible treat the clinking of glasses will not go amiss.

If the sight of the delicious food and wine is not enough to feed the eyes, the heritage building of Meat Market should certainly provide for that wow effect. From the detailed ceiling to the cobble floors, it is truly a unique environment which will certainly add to the magic of the event.

Lastly, holding those glasses, and nibbling from those cheese boards, with the different foods and their textures, will ensure the sense of touch isn’t left out. It will certainly tie everything together and ignite all the senses, which when combined will produce a feeling than is greater than the sum of its parts. At Wine and Cheese Fest is is simply known as happiness.

413A1420-155

Also, the famous and unmissable Grape Stomp Comp is back, and will see keen stompers competing for the prize of the best stomper, squeezing out the grape juice in the original way…quite an insta moment! And not to forget – there will be a ‘kids zone’ for the youngest ones (Note: kids enter for free but must be accompanied at all times!).

413A1600-287

‘THE STILETTO WOMAN’ LAUNCHES AT MON BIJOU

‘The Stiletto Woman’ – an empowering new book by Marisa Ferraro

Mon Bijou is located in an alley way off Melbourne’s Flinders Lane. A red carpet and neon sign are the only hints of this secret little bar, evoking a ‘celebrity feel’.

A speedy lift to level 10 and I’ve arrived at this unique penthouse venue with ‘floor-to-ceiling’ windows revealing panoramic views of the inner city skyline. Handed an espresso martini, it was hard to miss the bar with a guest lineup of martinis. Plus plenty of sparkling wine of course! The ceiling provided an interesting conversation point, with pink hexagon shapes reflecting the crowd below. It was intriguing and made for a great photo opportunity. The canapés on offer were zesty and fresh, with my favourite the moorish smoked trout mousse on a petite pancake.

The launch of ‘The Stiletto Woman’ by Marisa Ferraro seemed the perfect fit for this luxe venue, part of the Adelphi Hotel. As the book is all about sister solidarity, Mon Bijou is certainly the place to bring the girls.

This is a book that tells it like it is. It gives you the support and pep talk you need to find your way through the issues many women face today in the dating world, and the search for the right partner. ‘The Stiletto Woman’ is about taking control of your love life and finding empowerment in that control.

IKON IMAGES_17083_199__NP

The designer crowd matched the designer venue, with guests exuding sophistication, confidence, and empowerment, ideally enhancing the themes of Marisa’s book.

“Take control of your love life and find your happiness by rediscovering the beautiful woman that is you.”

Masters Dance Expo 2017 saw a sell out crowd of attendees and participants, with talented dance crews from New Zealand, Hobart, Queensland and Melbourne battling for a win, providing the audience with the best in dance entertainment. The full day program was packed with workshops, seminars, competitions, stalls and giveaways, all dedicated to dance.

The highly acclaimed choreographer, Sue Ellen Shook, delivered a Jazz Dance workshop like no other. Speaking with participants it was evident their experience was hugely beneficial, with ‘one on one’ coaching with Sue, whilst networking with like-minded jazz dance enthusiasts.

Renowned choreographer Loredo Malcolm, highly regarded for his work on the ‘Book Of Mormon’, conducted a Contemporary Dance workshop that was nothing short of an exhilarating experience. A few of the participants had been to the ‘Book of Mormon’, and were fascinated by the choreographer’s insights into the production, as well as his ‘behind the scenes’ accounts.

Another industry heavy weight known for his fierce stage presence and epic choreography, CJ SALVADOR, judged the Street Dance Championships. For many dancers, it was a dream come true to be in the presence of an international dance sensation.

Choreographer Gerard Pigg’s Commercial Dance workshop, was yet another highlight of the day.

Meanwhile prizes and surprises were up for grabs, with Hairhouse Warehouse, Bloch Dancewear,  Inspire Dancewear, Foxx makeup, and Couture Costume among the stall holders sponsoring gifts.

In between dance championships, competitions and workshops, the audience were enthralled with a silent disco, followed by Hip Hop royalty Rob Rich running a workshop like no other. The day concluded with his entourage RICHFAM, delivering a memorable performance finale to Masters’ Dance Expo 2017.
